Chanserv Stands for: Channel Service Terminology | Dictionary | Explanation Chanserv is a service provided by many IRC Networks to allow you register a channel. Chanserv is a truncation of the words channel and service. Chanserv maintains channel registration and access information. If a channel is registered with chanserv, its owners (and those they have designated) are able to control the channel using channel operator privileges. They'll be able to kick and/or ban users/ip's, set channel modes (such as locking the channel topic (+t) and +m (only registered users can talk) ) and protect the channel by setting up a channel password. |
