To mount a CD or DVD means that you create a virtual cd/dvd drive with the content of an image file. Common tools to mount images are Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. Most big scene releases are released as images. The advantage of an image is that you'll be able to burn or mount it directly. The advantage of mounting is that you don't have to burn your cd/dvd image in order to run them.
