A Note About aXXo

First of all, I hate writing this message since this gives aXXo credits. Though I need to write it since I get so much questions about this. What exactly is aXXo? aXXo is some fancy American teenager who creates DVDRips for "the torrent scene". aXXo is NOT a scene releasegroup. Though aXXo rips are one of the most popular rips on the internet. There is even a website with only aXXo torrents, www.axxotorrents.com.
I know this doesnt immediately mean that aXXo releases are crap. Sure he does some decent encoding, maybe just like scene releasegroups do. But, this is not always the case. Often the quality isnt as good as it could be. The releases scene groups release are always better, because they are ripped according to the scene rules. The scene rules ensure the quality of releases, so they are always very good. Looking at the quality, aXXos methods are questionable.
Besides encoding methods, aXXo also steals scene releases. Often the aXXo releases are released just a couple of days after the real scene release. In addiction, aXXo was accused a lot of stealing scene releases but he has never denied it. Some examples:

Another thing, since aXXo doesnt meet the scene standards, a lot of advantages of scene releases are missing. For example, aXXo releases dont contain:
- A sample. You will never be able to preview the quality.
- A reasonable NFO. You will never know any source/quality/encoding methods
- Subtitles
- A .sfv file. You will never be able to check data integrity, like if the data is corrupt or files are missing.
Conclusion:
aXXo has no relation to the scene or whatsoever. Some of his rips are good, others are bad. Probably a lot of the releases are stolen from scene groups. The only thing what makes aXXo popular is that they are released on torrents. Real scene released are secretly leaked to torrents. Since aXXo supports DVDRips for millions of torrent-users, we say no to aXXo. The scene shouldnt be for everyone, this will ruïne the scene eventually.
